Noun and it's kinds

                                 Noun: 

The name of persons  , places,things  or idea is called noun. / The physical and non physical shapes or called noun.  

Person : Junaid , Anthony, Robert, etc.


Place: London , New York , Pakistan , etc .

Thing : pencil , car , house , stick, etc. 


Kinds of Noun: 

There are different kinds of noun which are given and discussed fully.


1. Proper Noun: 

The name which is given to specific or particular person , place or thing is called proper noun.

Examples: Ali , Anthony , England , London , etc .


2. Common Noun

Common noun is a general or shared name of person , place or thing ./ The name which is given common to every person, place or thing is called common noun .

Examples : Boy , girl , city, etc. 


3. Collective noun : 

It is the name of group of persons or thing spoke as a whole is called collective noun .

Examples: Police , staff, Army , jury , committee, class, etc.


4. Abstract Noun :

It is the name of some quality, state or action . 

Quality: Honesty, truthfulness, wisdom , kindness ,darkness, etc. 

State: poverty , youth , childhood, sickness, death, etc .

Action: Punishment , movement, judgment, Theft, etc.


Definition no 2: 

Abstract noun refers to thing which cannot be perceived into five senses . 

Definition No3: 

Abstract noun refers to things which do not have physical existence .


5. Concrete Noun: 

The nouns which can be perceived into five senses or the nouns which have physical existence are called concrete nouns.

Examples: Marker , Muzaffarabad, chair , Patient, etc. 


6. Material nouns:

It is the name of substance which anything can be made such as silver, gold, Cotton , plastic, etc .


7. Countable Nouns: 

The nouns which can be counted are called uncountable nouns. /The nouns which admit number before them are called countable Nouns. These are also called count noun.

Examples: cat/ cats 

 Dog / dogs 

Marker / 10 Markers , etc.


8. Uncountable nouns:

The nouns which can not be counted are called uncountable nouns./ The numbers which do not admit number before them are called countable nouns. These are also called mass noun .

Examples : Milk , water, tea , etc.


9. Compound Nouns: 

The noun which consist of two words are called compound nouns ./ Compounding refers to the combination of two or more words to create new word . Some examples are given below;

Class+room = classroom 

Room+mate= Roommate

Green+tea= Geeen tea

class+fellow=classfellow
